STRANGER DANGER ALERT! letter to parents and carers

Below is a copy of the letter sent home with children on the 13th June 2014. The letter relates an attempt by a couple to abduct a primary school child in the Old Swan area.

13th June 2014
Dear Parent / Carer,
I am writing to alert you to an attempted abduction at a Primary School in the Old Swan Area.
Detail as follows: -
A Grandmother was walking towards the school with her young granddaughter, when she was approached by a white female aged approximately 50 years old and a white male aged approximately 30 years of age. The female offered to take the child into the school saying that they both worked there. This was not the case. Neither adult worked at the school.
Fortunately, the child was alert and insisted that her Grandmother took her safely into school.
The police and the LA safeguarding department have been alerted.
My Staff team has today reminded pupils about how to keep themselves safe. Please reinforce this message with your child at home and ensure that you make appropriate arrangements to get your child safely to and from school.
Thank you for your support in this matter.
Kindest regards,
Ruth Town
