Michael Nickeas (Co-opted Governor)

Michael Nickeas:
Co-opted Governor

My family and I live in Aigbirth, Liverpool. My daughter is a pupil in the Reception class at St Michaels. I work within education as a Pastoral Officer for a national charity. I have 16 years of experience of working with pupils with very challenging behaviours as well as with those who may have communication difficulties. I also have a particular interest in educating those with special or additional needs.
I was attracted to the role of Governor as I believe that giving your time to volunteer to your community is a worthwhile thing to do. I have a keen interest in music from Classical music, drum + bass to house music. I am part of a photographic collective based in Liverpool; we mainly photograph landmarks or landscapes. I am very interested in military history specifically around D-Day and the liberation of Europe.
I am the link Governor for 3M as well as for the Rainbow base; I hope my experience will allow me to become a critical friend to the school. I look forward to spending time learning to be a governor and serving my community and the school.
