Operation Banger 2017
I would like to say a big thank you to Sagal from Merseyside Fire and Rescue service and to Fran from Merseyside Police who came into our school to deliver safety messages to all our children about how to keep ourselves safe and how to spot and report anybody being unsafe during the Bonfire period. In 2015 4506 people visited A&E due to bonfire related injuries. Our Safety Cadets are taking on the challenge of becoming fire friends, they have been given their very own high vis jackets from the fire service which are to be worn walking to and from school and at any bonfire events they attend to promote ‘Operation Banger’. The cadets are to work with the rest of the school to gather information and addresses of where they see fly tipping, boarded up buildings and bonfires being built in communities. We are looking forward to becoming fire friends and helping keep ourselves and the community safe.
