School News

Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.

The 'School Newsletter' link has current and archived School Newsletters sent home with children and is often the best source for the latest goings on at SMH.

In addition 'Parent/Carer Letters Page' gives more detail on specific class activities, trips out of school, whole school events and other important notices.

There are a variety of different short courses aimed at parents that take place across Liverpool, usually based in schools. These are free and open to all parents and carers. The details are outlined below under the documents section with the heading 'Free Family Learning Courses'. If you would like to attend any simply use the given contact number. Sometimes a creche may be available.

Parent Feedback
We really value your comments and suggestions about our school and will continue to work in partnership with our families and wider community to give all our children the best we can offer. The results of our last parent questionnaire can be found in the articles below.

The areas you felt were a strength of our school were: Celebration Assemblies, Massage and a strong focus on Wellbeing, Our Wild Garden and Outdoor Learning, A community feel,  A happy and welcoming atmosphere, The variety of school clubs (and that they are free), Approachable staff.

The things that you identified as areas where we need to consider further were: How clubs are allocated, How we can create more opportunities for working families to get involved, How we can support families to understand the academic progress of their child and how families can help their children,  How we can signpost other resources for families so they can reinforce the current learning in class ( in addition to the project work).

St Michael in the Hamlet works hard to meet the needs of the children their families and the community and your feedback is key to the Leadership team and Governing Body to enable us to do so. Thank you to all those families who responded, particularly for all the lovely positive comments which we have shared with staff. The Leadership Team will discuss all the areas above to look for ways to make our school more effective.

Thank you again  for all the support our families show St Michael in the Hamlet on our journey to be outstanding.
