For winning a competition, this week we had a visit from Knowsley Safari Park!
Our expert Abbey told us all about the different habitats in the world including grasslands, desert and the rainforest. Did you know deserts could be cold? They can get to -40 degrees! Abbey told us that camels grow a thick layer of fur for these conditions. It did feel very soft. She introduced us to Olaf the Royal Python who was tasting the air with his tongue to see if we were tasty mice...
Finally we stroked a Madagascan hissing cockroach which did hiss at us when we touched it!
We learnt so much from Abbey’s visit and want to say a big thank you to Knowsley Safari for coming to see us.
A final thank you to our class winner Rose McPherson Downey for grabbing first place for us!
