Equality at St Michael in the Hamlet

Equality at St Michael in the Hamlet

St. Michael in the Hamlet Primary School is a Rights Respecting School. At St Michael in the Hamlet Primary School we are committed to ensuring that we promote equality for all members of our school community: children, staff, parents and visitors. We aim to do this through the use of our resources; our school policies and how we deliver our curriculum.

We also aim to promote a global understanding of equality issues through our practice and curriculum. We fully accept our responsibility to educate our children about equality information and assertively address any behaviour that affects the equality of others.

This includes:

  • gender
  • ethnicity and race
  • religion
  • disabilities
  • homophobic behaviours
  • any prejudice towards transgender people
  • age

At St. Michael in the Hamlet School:

  • We aim to treat everyone fairly with respect.
  • We make sure everyone is safe in school.

Attached at the top of this page is our Equality and Diversity Policy and the Equality Act 2010, the National, non-statutory advice from Government which underpins it.
