What We Do
The job of our Eco-council is to try to make our school as sustainable as possible. That means we try to look after the world around us and make sure that we don’t damage it. The children on our council are chosen by each class in September. We meet every few weeks to work on what else we can do to make our school more sustainable. Last year we looked at how much waste our school makes. This year we are looking at how we can save energy.
The Energy Investigation
We went undercover around the school to investigate how energy was being wasted. We took photographs and shared our findings with the school in assemblies. We also decided to take part in a Switch-Off fortnight to encourage everyone to turn off lights and appliances in school and at home.
You can look at photos we took by clicking on the 'slide show of energy audit' in the documents section below. Please note, Microsoft's, 'FREE Powerpoint Slide Show Viewer' maybe required, download it HERE.

Recycled Music - See link below
Children from Nursery to Year 6 formed a ‘junk’ band and created a music video. The children, together with Mr Bradshaw, made their own 'Skiffle' instruments from recycled items gathered around school. They recorded the sounds and then mixed them together using Garageband. You will agree that the results are far from rubbish!
