St. Michael in the Hamlet Nursery Newsletter Autumn 2, 2018
A big welcome back to all of our nursery families! This will prove to be a very long, busy and exciting term for the children.
We are expecting the weather to become colder and wetter this term and strongly recommend all children have wellies. They can either come to nursery wearing them or keep a pair here to change into whenever necessary.
Can I also ask that children come to nursery in old clothes particularly at this time of year as we will continue to play outside daily and the garden does become muddy. It would be really helpful if children wore shoes that did not have laces as these easily come undone.
We are expecting to have P.E. in the Hall on Tuesdays. This is a great opportunity to have fun exploring moving in different ways to music, using small equipment and listening very carefully to instructions. Can I please ask that children do not wear tights on this day as we are practising putting our shoes and socks on independently.
Many thanks to the parents/carers who supported our ‘Stay and Play’ session last term. We are thoroughly enjoying getting to know you better and giving you opportunity to join in with your child in nursery.
We plan to continue with these sessions as they are an ideal time to discuss with the staff how your child is getting on. They also offer an opportunity to chat to other parents.
This terms Stay and play date will be:-
Tuesday 4th December at 8.45 – 9.45 a.m.
The Christmas production will be upon us fast! Nursery children will be singing a song and we need each child to bring in a pair of pyjamas, as soon as possible, in a labelled bag as a costume.
Christmas Play:-Monday 17th December
Tuesday 18th December
Nursery will finish for the Christmas break on Thursday 20th December. Taster sessions for new children will take place on Friday 21st December.
