Autumn 2 - Nursery Newsletter
A big welcome back to all of our nursery families! This will prove to be a very busy and exciting term for the children.
Last half term we were lucky enough to have Spanish as part of our curriculum. The teacher has been warmly embraced by the nursery children as ‘Spanish Ana!’ Her fun and animated approach has really enthused the children and we all enjoy her stories and songs. She will continue with us this term teaching the children names of family members and using numbers to 5. Do ask your child to count to 5 in Spanish, hopefully they will be able to teach you!
We are expecting the weather to become colder and wetter this term and strongly recommend all children have wellies. They can either come to nursery wearing them or keep a pair here to change into whenever necessary.
Can I also ask that children come to nursery in old clothes particularly at this time of year as we will continue to play outside daily and the garden does become muddy. It would be really helpful if children wore shoes that did not have laces as these easily come undone.
Many thanks to the parents/carers who supported our ‘Stay and Play’ session last term. We are thoroughly enjoying getting to know you better and giving you opportunity to join in with your child in nursery. As I mentioned at the session we are having a big push on Nursery Rhymes. So far we have learned Little Miss Muffet, Incy Wincy Spider, Jack and Jill and I’m a Little Teapot.
We plan to continue with these sessions as they are an ideal time to discuss with the staff how your child is getting on. They also offer an opportunity to chat to other parents.
The Christmas production will be upon us fast! Nursery children will be singing a song and we need each child to bring in a pair of pyjamas, as soon as possible, in a labelled bag as a costume.
This terms Stay and play date will be Thursday 1st December.
Morning/All day children: 9 – 10
Afternoon children 12.30 – 1.30
Nursery will finish for the Christmas break on Tuesday 20th December. Taster sessions for new children will take place on Wednesday 21st December.
