On December 4th 2018, Year 3 visited the local streets of the school to use the character of the environment as a background for our recreation of an L.S Lowry painting. Year 3 dressed up in early 1900’s clothing to model how Lowry painted his people. This activity allowed the children to dive into a Lowry painting and become a part of one of the North West’s greatest artists’ works.
The children took part in the highly popular ‘Mannequin Challenge’ to produce a modern twist on a Lowry painting. This involved the children standing completely still, just how the people in the paintings look, whilst being videoed.
